Stakeholders are invited to attend the special event that will feature a presentation on sexual harassment in housing called, Behind Closed Doors: Sexual Harassment in Housing. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO Region III) at The Wanamaker Building, 100 Penn Square East, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
The event is a collaboration between FHEO Region III and the Fair Housing Rights Center in Southeastern Pennsylvania (FHRC). Aside from the important content, the Assistant Secretary of FHEO, Anna Maria Farias, will be attending the event.
According to fair housing law, people are harassed in housing in two ways. Furthermore, when a predator targets a victim, she or he must choose between their personal values or lose housing at the hands of someone who has keys to their home. The above initiative will reveal that HUD and DOJ have been working together to combat sexual harassment in housing, which is a violation of a victim’s fair housing rights and a criminal offense. By attending this event, you can get involved by learning how to prevent, recognize, and report sexual harassment in housing.
Please see the flyer for more information. Seating is limited; therefore, RSVP at email@example.com.
